Why should I attend a LeadingAge California (LAC) Career Fair?
LeadingAge California’s Career Fairs are a FREE resource for you to discover job opportunities in the aging services. You can meet hiring managers, get interviewed and learn about the employment opportunities and benefits of each employer.
I am currently working - should I attend?
Yes! Even if you are currently employed, attending a Career Fair allows you to see what other job opportunities are out there. If anything, it is a great way to expand your network.
How does the career fair work?
LAC is offering two different formats for the Career Fairs. One is hosted completely online – our Virtual Career Fair. The other is an in person event hosted in Los Angeles. Depending on which type of Career Fair format is convenient for your schedule, this is what you can expect.
Virtual Career Fair
The event occurs on November 16th at three different time slots. They may have different employers at each time slot so you can attend one or all three. You are able to pre-register in advanced and upload your information online. Then on the day of, you will log in and start visiting the virtual booths and get information from each employer vendor the same way as you would in person. Each virtual booth will have a representative there to answer any/all of your questions regarding open positions. They can also interview on the spot through Chat or Call feature in the Virtual Career Fair Space. This allows you and the Employers to connect regardless of your location. As long as you have a smart phone, tablet or computer with an internet connection – you can participate.
November 16, 2019:
- 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
- 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
In-Person Career Fair
The event occurs on November 18th from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology. You are able to pre-register in advanced and upload your information online or you can register on-site the day of the event at the entrance.
Is there a fee to attend?
LAC Career Fairs are FREE for job seekers nation-wide.
How should I dress to a job fair?
For the in-person Career Fair, we recommend you dress to impress, a business suit if possible. Consider wearing a combination of conservative colors, with a dress shirt, slack or dress pant.
Can I bring a friend?
Yes, bring friends, family and other peers who want to improve their professional careers and/or extend their network.
Can I arrive late?
You may arrive at any time, but make sure to arrive early enough so you can have a chance to speak and apply to all the hiring companies.
Do I need to register?
It’s always good to pre-register on our site, but you can always do it the day of the event at the entrance for the in-person event. We recommend pre-registering on our site for the virtual career fair to avoid spending too much time setting up on the day of. Additionally, by signing up in advance, the employers will have the chance to review your resume and ask for an interview.
