The first round of the Data Sharing Agreement (DSA) Signatory Grants Program is now open. Signatories are encouraged to apply via the application link below for Technical Assistance applications and for QHIO Onboarding applications. Email grantsupport@cahie.org to begin the application process.

The DSA Signatory Grant Program is designed to subsidize DSA Signatories’ investments to achieve the DSA requirements. Acknowledging the range of activities that may be needed for Signatories to achieve the DSA requirements and varying capacity for grant application and management, CDII has created the following two types of DSA Signatory Grants: Technical Assistance (TA) Grants and Qualified Health Information Organization (QHIO) Onboarding Grants. There will be at least three rounds of DSA Signatory Grants in 2023. Any given Signatory may be awarded only one grant. To expedite funding to entities that are mandatory DSA Signatories, CDII will hold two short rounds for the six types of Signatory entities listed under Health and Safety Code section 130290(f). CDII expects to accept applications for each round per the following schedule:
- Round 1: May 16, 2023, through noon PT on June 16, 2023.
- Round 2: mid-June to mid-July
- Round 3: July to September
There may be additional rounds for Signatories to apply; if so, more information will be announced at a later date.
Participants are encouraged to review the DSA Signatory Grants Applicant Guidance Document for further information, such as: eligibility criteria, uses of funding and required grant outcomes, funding maximums, the application process, resources available to applicants, scoring criteria & award decisions, and more.
In addition, the California Health and Human Services Agency Center for Data Insights and Innovation (CDII) is holding virtual office hour sessions on the dates below to provide application support to prospective applicants and answer any questions.

The DSA Signatory Grant Program third party administrator, Public Consulting Group, will assess the need for additional office hours for grantees related to post award activities.
