Celebration Station

Celebration Station is LeadingAge California’s quarterly Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) recognition webpage that highlights the various DEI-related initiatives across our membership. Survey of LGBTQIA+ Older Adults in California: From Challenges to Resilience

LeadingAge California Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Social Impact Initiatives, Marina Servantez, sits down with Jupiter Peraza, Manager of Statewide Coalition at Openhouse SF, to discuss the historic Survey of LGBTQIA+ Older Adults in California: From Challenges to Resilience.

From December 4, 2023 – March 31, 2024, LGBTQIA+ Californians 50 years of age or older can partake in this groundbreaking study to address how California can improve for our LGBTQIA+ older adults! Previous Celebration Station Highlights

Hillcrest

In this quarter’s celebration station, we are recognizing the DEI accomplishments of LeadingAge California Community Hillcrest, a Life Plan Community located in La Verne. The leadership team at Hillcrest has done a fantastic job of working with residents to nurture and grow a DEI initiative that seeks to promote understanding, awareness, and inclusion throughout their community. We agree with Hillcrest's Director of Sales and Marketing and LeadingAge California’s Equity Cabinet member, Shirley Turner when she says, “In order to change MINDS we must first change HEARTS!”  Well said, Shirley! Thank you, Matthew Neely, CEO and President, for your leadership, and thank you Hillcrest for your example! Be encouraged as we celebrate our Diversity!
