Lead Public Policy that Helps Members Thrive

LeadingAge California will lead public policy that helps members thrive in all settings across the continuum of housing, care and services for older adults.

LeadingAge California members rank advocacy as the #1 priority for the Association. It is imperative that policy and advocacy align with members’ current and future needs. Each year, the LeadingAge California public policy team sponsors, tracks and advocates on a comprehensive portfolio of legislation on behalf of members, and provides input on regulatory changes and expert insights to California state agencies and departments. LeadingAge California staff are sought-after thought leaders and currently serve on more than 30 high-impact committees and coalitions including the Master Plan for Aging (MPA) Steering Group, Disability & Aging Community Living Advisory Committee, SNF & Congregate Care Panel, California Aging and Disability Alliance, the Coalition for Solutions to End Older Adult Homelessness, and the California Collaborative for Long-Term Services and Supports, amongst others. The pandemic exposed long-standing inequities in housing, care and services for older adults, elevating key policy and regulatory discussions to the forefront.
