PACE – There is no place more fitting for an organization leading person-centered care. LeadingAge California and LeadingAge are the state and national hubs where nonprofits and the continuum of aging services converge—innovating and advocating to ensure older adults continue to receive high-quality, affordable services and supports. Membership offers an open learning environment where the continuum shares best practices that are leading the field.

Adult Day  We advocate for Adult Day as an important part of the continuum of aging services. Membership provides a voice to expand the scope and availability of Adult Day services. Organizations gain knowledge about programming and innovation—and find partnership opportunities to extend their reach and improve outcomes for older adults. We have deep expertise in federal and state regulations affecting Adult Day organizations and provide a high level of technical expertise.

Non-Medical Home Care – As experts in the continuum, we create ways to share best practices between different services and supports - an ideal environment for Non-Medical Home Care providers.

Over half of our members are Subsidized Housing providers—including market rate, subsidized and tax-credit housing providers and others. As the voice of the older adult continuum, our association works to expand the affordable housing supply. The National Center for Applied Research develops the evidence base to drive policy and funding changes, and the Center for Housing Plus Services is a knowledge hub for developing and implementing strategies. Together, our teams bring new partners and resources to the table to support the development of models that help promote healthy aging through housing. We also reach out beyond traditional HUD programs into areas like the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, where we serve on the steering committee of the most important pro-tax credit organization.

Assisted Living communities represent more than a third of our membership nationwide. As an important part of the continuum of aging services, Assisted Living members benefit from LeadingAge California and LeadingAge’s open learning environment and the opportunity to network with providers across the entire continuum of care, that share their values. Members hear from one another on what’s working, they identify key innovations and how to implement them, and they discover ways to expand their service offerings to improve the lives of older adults.

Home Care is often the first home and community-based service offered by our Life Plan Communities, Nursing Homes, and Senior Housing Providers. As experts in the continuum, we create ways to share best practices between different services and supports - an ideal environment for Home Care providers.

Home health is a rapidly growing sector of aging services. Home health provider members of LeadingAge and LeadingAge California benefit from networking with others in the continuum that share the same values. Home health providers can exchange best practices and discover the latest applied technologies that drive the field. As experts in state and federal regulations and payment issues affecting aging services, we help home health providers navigate emerging policies and legislation that impact their business and how they care for older adults.

Hospice providers and the care that they offer are a critical component of aging services. In today’s ever-changing healthcare landscape, hospice providers juggle providing expert end-of-life care and considering what additional service line investments to make in order to utilize their expertise and thrive into the future. Members benefit from networking and working with others in the aging services continuum that share a mission driven approach and work through similar considerations. This continuum perspective is a benefit to hospice providers and what makes membership to LeadingAge and LeadingAge California unique — in a health care environment that is only becoming more integrated, the ability to have access to like-minded experts and partners will help hospices thrive. We offer regulatory and payment expertise affecting aging services and help hospice providers navigate emerging policies and legislation that impact their business, and how they care for older adults.

Nearly every nonprofit Life Plan Community in the country is a member of LeadingAge. As experts in the continuum, LeadingAge California and LeadingAge create ways to share best practices between different services and supports—an ideal environment for Life Plan Communities. We have created financing models and grant programs for innovative communities whose great ideas could improve the lives of older adults across the country. We understand the value Life Plan Communities bring to their community and we've taken the lead in helping members tell their social accountability story.

Nursing Home providers represent over half of our membership nationwide. It is more important than ever for nonprofit Nursing Homes to join LeadingAge California and LeadingAge which provide a voice for the nonprofit aging services continuum. We advocate for nursing homes' interest, and we lobby to keep their tax-exempt status and much- needed reimbursements. Membership offers opportunities to learn how to innovate and develop multispecialty, interdisciplinary approaches that will keep Nursing Homes a viable option for the future. We also offer valuable CMP grants to address vital issues like social isolation while reducing dependencies on opioids.

Hear from Our Members

Throughout the years LeadingAge California personnel have been very helpful in dealing with issues that our organization has had to deal with state agencies. That kind of backing gives EDs the confidence and information needed to move through thorny disputes. Recently Brenda Klutz has been invaluable to SVH in dealing with a sticky local CDPH office

For more than 60 years LeadingAge National and LeadingAge California have been valuable partners and assets for our LifePlan community. They gather industry experts and surround themselves with excellence for the benefit of their members. I am able to contact anyone in their organization to ask questions, seek clarification or guidance, and ask for advocacy as it relates to my field. They are my go-to organization.
