Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE)

Overview

There is no place more fitting for a nonprofit organization leading person-centered care than LeadingAge California and LeadingAge. LeadingAge California is the hub where nonprofits and the continuum of aging services converge — innovating and advocating to ensure older adults continue to receive high-quality, affordable services and supports. Membership offers an open learning environment where the continuum shares best practices that are leading the field.

New Laws

In 2021, the California Legislature passed the following measures into law:

 AB 523 (Nazarian) – PACE

LeadingAge California Position: Support

This bill would have required the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) to make permanent specified changes in the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) program that DHCS instituted, on or before January 1, 2021, in response to the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE).

• Access the Center for Aging Services Technologies (CAST) resources on technologies for PACE settings including EHR, medication management, telehealth and telecare tools.
